Most modern SUVs and many mid-size sedans can tow a Wotpods teardrop caravan without any vehicle upgrades. The three models weigh between 760kg (Podaroo), 840kg (Q-Pod), and 940kg (Bosspod) — well within the tow rating of vehicles like a Toyota RAV4 (1,500–2,000kg tow capacity), Mazda CX-5 (2,000kg), Subaru Outback (1,500–2,000kg), or Ford Ranger (3,500kg).
The Q-Pod and Bosspod feature a 1.5m drawbar (the Podaroo has a 1m drawbar), which makes reversing and manoeuvring significantly easier and allows space for a bike rack or additional storage on the drawbar itself.
The optional off-road upgrade ($3,200) adds independent suspension, coil shocks, trailing arm geometry, and off-road tyres, and raises the pod 150mm — suitable for unsealed roads but still towable by the same vehicles.
